Igor Volkov's collection of works is dedicated to Ukraine, as if paying tribute to its cultural heritage, land and people.The themes of the works were myths, ornaments, dances, spiritual symbols of Ukrainians.The author often turns to monumental mosaics and collage techniques, breaking the image into pieces.

The main technique of expressive painting and the creation of abstract compositions, which together are able to fit into the form, which allows you to "travel" between details, textures of paint. All elements are closely intertwined, first forming a dynamic chaos, which is later transformed into a harmony of shapes, colors, materials.

The central figures and themes of the collection are eternal symbols and cultural phenomena inherent in the Ukrainian land: nature and man, the role of woman and man, the image of a warrior and martial arts, dance and music.

Studying the history of the Slavic peoples, the author notices their connection with the worldview and culture of the East, which is often stylistically expressed in the reflection of spiritual images.

The main ideological message of the collection is the revival of civilization, the return to the true essence of all cultural phenomena, ancient hidden from the mass knowledge of our ancestors, from which only the form remained in the form of dance, song, image, etc.It is a return to the earth, a way forward, through a way back, using the best achievements of human history, in order to build a new era, a look into the future.

By studying different cultures comes an understanding of how much the external environment affects entire peoples and an individual person in particular. Such concepts as "beauty", "norm"... etc. The artist uses and combines traditional patterns, visual images and patterns of individual nations, creating unique combinations to demonstrate the influence of the surrounding environment and cultural heritage and their differentiation, as well as elements of his own - Ukrainian culture as a manifestation of personal experience.

Ihor Volkov seems to suggest taking a step back in order to disconnect from culture and realize the extent of its influence and to go beyond one's limits in order to reunite with the truth, to realize the unity of everything and all beings.

Modern culture also dictates its models, promoting and normalizing destructive phenomena that slow down our collective development: greed, aggression, unhealthy lifestyles and interactions, certain standards and frameworks.Depicting modern phenomena, Ihor gives space for thinking about future consequences and the opportunity for the viewer to identify external influences in himself and critically consider these processes.

The works clearly trace the influence of Eastern teachings and culture of ancient China, India, Africa, their symbiosis with Slavic culture, Ukraine. Some works of 2021, for example "Mir 2", "Human Nature", "War God", "His", are symbols of the spiritual war of self-centeredness and unity, or humanity, which were a foreboding and were created even before the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine in 2022 .

The presented works border on various directions in science, such as neurophysiology (since all processes of personality formation are closely related to perception and external information entering the human brain and its further processing), sociology (demonstration of patterns of social actions and mass behavior of people , as well as the relationship between the individual and society), the quantum section of physics (the problem of the observer in quantum physics is expressed in the used techniques that make it possible to change the way of perceiving the perspective depending on the intention of the viewer), media studies (social-psychological and socio-philosophical analysis of the influence of media mass media)

In his artistic practice, Ihor turns to expressive, fast, and often even aggressive techniques of applying paint, which gives dynamics to his works. The use of physical objects, such as: mirrors, fabric, various artifacts, bring the image into the three-dimensional space of the observer, giving a feeling of greater immersion in the world of the picture.

The peculiarity of the creation of Igor Volkov's paintings is the fundamental laws of existence and creation of the world, which he uses in his practice. It refers to the organization of chaos into a certain harmony, for example, by composing and combining, in fact, independent abstract compositions, on a larger scale they form new forms, which in the future already act as an expression of a certain concept or symbol in their unity.

The collection of works by Igor Volkov is devoted to the struggle, the nature of the concepts of good and evil, Darkness and Light, the duality of existence.The plots refer us to different traditions, religions, myths, the main theme is always the struggle and its manifestations.The heroes of the works are recognizable images of angels, warriors, animals, emphasizing the symbolism of the compositions archetypes .

The author uses expressive techniques of applying paint, often with sharp, fast dynamic movements, focusing not on the image itself, but on the emotional state and the movement itself, which is an element of performance.The techniques of naive painting, conventionality of the image are traced, abstract elements fit into the general composition in the form, deconstruction of the image.

Indeed, the naked eye can see that the world is based not so much on struggle as on the interaction of opposites. Only through the interaction of Light and Darkness, penumbras are born, and the world becomes visible and recognizable. The collection of Igor Volkov's paintings is devoted to illusions, the illusory nature of the material and all related phenomena. Most of the paintings in the collection are very personal and the author's example of life, as "illusions".

The author creates multidimensional compositions that express the essence of our existence and the uncertainty of everything, in which all elements are connected or dependent on each other and are in balance. The main idea is disidentifying oneself with the material body and realizing one's essence and the unity of everything. Our three-dimensional perception is very limited, consciousness always clings to material objects and gives them labels based on its experience, from which many problems arise.

Even at the visual level, in Igor Volkov's paintings, it will be difficult to cling to a certain form or perspective, because he creates a space of options, and this uncertainty, conventionality of the image.

Most of the paintings are painted in the author's characteristic expressive technique, with multiple layering of paint, dynamic strokes and the use of seemingly incompleteness. The compositions in the works seem to intertwine, creating a single flow. Igor experiments a lot with space and perspective, which adds a magical atmosphere when combined with natural motifs.

Dynamic compositions do not seem to stop for a moment in their vortex, the dance of energy, constantly transforming and taking on new forms and perspectives.
The color is a high-quality, emotional color of the composition, generating an atmosphere of action.
Boundless interweaving creates multidimensional compositions, which allows us to change the form depending on the intention of the subject, which refers us to science, the quantum section of physics and the problem of the observer, when matter can be wave nature and particle at the same time. philosophy of Buddhism.
